7 Ugly Things We All Seek!

We live our lives seeking after things we don't want or need and forget the things we really need, and end up miserable and wondering " If I have all I need then why it doesn't feel as satisfactory as I thought it would?!" here is a list of such Items:

1- Cars: A nice ride is always thought of (by guys) as a girl magnet ,and for girls as a privilege, I don't know what is attractive about an engine on wheels that consumes Gas and produces some force,Heat and whole load of junk for the next generations ... And also there is nothing attractive is getting a loan to buy something to pay back the loan with 25% interest and when the payment is finished the value of the item for which you got the loan is half of its original price!.

2- Success: usually success is reached by those how aimed for much more but didn't hit their target, or others who are not worthy. people stab each other in the back, make conspiracies, deal with people they can't stand just so one day they can look at a mirror and say that they are successful but usually they say that while looking at the suit they are wearing rather than when looking themselves in the eye.

3- Truth: Knowing the truth that was hidden from you is just as bad as the lie that you were told, actually worse, now you have to think of how stupid you are to believe the lie, how didn't you see the truth all along and how easy you can be convinced that an elephant actually chased the guy while he was on the way to meet you downtown somewhere in Europe!. and yes truth hurts and so do lies, but the only difference is that truth can set you free, sometimes free falling!!!

4- Money: money is always about making someone suffer, it is about power, it is about need, and hunger, money is always a dirty thing that makes people act with their most primitive instincts, the same way predators when trying to catch a prey.

5- Happiness: I think we all agree by now that happiness is an abnormal state of mind, lasts for small periods of time then leaves you worst than before ... sounds like I an describing a drug, chemically the endorphins that make us happy are nothing but a natural substitute of drugs as we know it, happiness is addictive but the trouble we face in life is more addicted to us, the best you can do is only make it more frequent talking about happiness of course.

6- Settling Past debts: you know when you past haunts you and you want to get even with someone?... when you do you best just to prove someone wrong about you, or would regret hurting you ... the bad news is that is if that person had ever given a damn at the first place you would never end up obsessing about getting even, just wake up a move on.

7- Glory: Throughout history Glory has always been correlated with death, so unless you are willing to kill many people or sacrifice yourself don't hold you hopes high on that, Success is enough for you in this case (refer to point 2).

I am not saying I don't seek any of those things but the whole point is that for every thing we seek in life there is a good side and an ugly side, and if you can't handle the bad maybe you don't deserve the good!.

The rise and fall of love ... Images by banksy

1- One person is living life minding his own business and adopting to all options of disappointments life can offer:

2- When out of the bloom he meets someone unexpected and in-awaited for, and wild dreams are built on ruins:
3- So to approach these dreams an age of modern slavery starts:

4- Although of a hard struggle there is still hope ... or fake hope ..well, It depends...

5-Life goes on and nothing much happens except the Guy is closing in to his target and change is about to happen:

6- Now that the mission impossible is almost accomplished, only few lose ends left, Somebody becomes a decision maker and decides to fly away:

7- The victim realizes the Big lie, understands all the unexplained strange things, and finally comes to the conclusion:

8- A mass destruction campaign starts where the killer makes sure that the victim has nothing to fight with , and the Mona Lisa smile finally makes sense:

9- Hopes and dreams are canceled:

10- And back to no. 1 Maybe 2, 3, 4 ... who knows!!!

P.S. This is a totally imaginary love story, in real life love doesn't just disappear, and people try to communicate.

Nine Plans we never finish ...

We all want to have a blast in life, make use of our rarely free time, but we manage to fail in completing any optional thing we chose to do.

1- Have you ever Started to read a good book, and after the first few pages you stopped... few months later you start reading it again and stop exactly where you stopped the last time?... me too

2- Have you ever had an easy exam... a really easy one? and while answering the questions you just felt bored of writing so you left the last question half answered or you made it obvious to your professor that you know the answer but you are just sick of this exam?... me too if your answer was yes

3- Did you ever have a long Holiday, and you ad so many plans, actually too many to finish any, and you ended up really unhappy that you never did anything in you Holiday?... You too

4- Did ever Start cleaning you home, or at least washing dishes... there always this last small area to mop or dish to wash that seems impossible to do... I ate that burden!

5- Can you ever finish entertainment? we all sit around the TV until there nothing good to watch, we stay online until our connection is down, it is like an on going task that you have to do... I was like that, but once I changed this, I had more time to finish my unfinished plans!

6- How many time did you not finish the soda can you are drinking? maybe you didn't need it in the first place or maybe an average human doesn't willingly consume 330 ml of soda on each serving.

7- why is it impossible for us to attend a wedding until it ends? what is a wedding's end anyway? it is like the place where the train turns around ...

8- In every gathering, there is always someone who forgot something that made everyone else worry about how to manage without this thing but no one make a move!

9- There is always one thing in your car, house, or office that can be easily fixed but you can never do it..

If you have any other examples, please don't hesitate to contribute :)

In the Dark

Have you ever wanted to recharge your mobile phone in complete darkness?!, feeling your way for the slim wire, recognizing the charger by feeling the tip?!. if you do that, stop for a moment and think after you do about how well you think of yourself for this accomplishment that most of us do.

Or have you ever felt something under your bed cover and carelessly you move it to hear the sound of a precious item hit the ground?, your glasses or watch maybe?!. Did you ever try to shut the alarm on a weekend morning that mistakenly went off and ended up spelling the half full cup of water on the side of your bed?!.

One incident I remember is that once in a cold night, trying to sleep, I just couldn't get the bed sheet to cover me properly, turning it around and around trying to figure the right way to put it, I found out that it will never work, the cover was folded!!!!

It happens, but it could not if we just thought of turning on the light, In a time where we are all invited to think out side the box, I invite you to make maximum usage of what's inside, we keep stumbling in the velvet darkness of our lives Ignoring that touch of enlightenment provided by those who tried before us!.

The terminal... Guest star "Me".

"Hello Adi, I need to talk to you, you need to travel to Ethiopia for a meeting with a potential customer".

Packed and ready, few days later, the day of departure, I opened the demo laptop and Oops,... its the blue screen of death, My flight is in 3 hours, hold on I got email, I got 10 hours...Good.

Prepared another laptop, went to get my ticket... it was not ready yet, The customer promised that my visa is at the airport, waiting for me to come in my shining armor, riding a unicorn and coming for the rescue, "You have to go now... the flight is at 18:00 not 20:00, you will receive an SMS with the ticket No. on the way.

On the road now, TEET TEET, I got it, 2 numbers, no other data, I called the sender, Its Terminal 2 with Gulf Air, got there, and it wasn't terminal 2 and neither Gulf air, disappointed but in a hurry I got to the right place. an ambitious young guy behind the ticket counter looked at me and said:
-Him: you are going to Bahrain!
-Me: I know that
-Him:Where are you continuing afterward
-Me: Addis Ababa"... I answered with a smile,
It means "the new flower" the highest city in Africa, with a cool weather and no diseases.

All I had was my passport, an invitation letter and a promised visa, the RJ employee nicely told me that they can't let me on board without a visa, but finally they let me in but after signing a paper indicating that I am traveling upon my own responsibility, I headed to Bahrain with excitement.

I arrived to Bahrain's airport, the plane started to go down over water, scary but promising. After the safe landing and the really strong brake that threw me in the air hanging with a seat belt, I went to get my boarding ticket, " the plane is at 4:15 ... 8 hours from now", I was told to come back at 12:00, I went up to the duty free area; the only slightly entertaining place in any airport.

Seconds passed like hours, hours like days, I did all the required work and it didn't pass 11:00 yet, got medication for my sore throat. At midnight I went back to the ticket counter they told me to come back at 1:00 am, I spent that hour fantasizing about taking off my shoes.

I went down stairs again, the airport representative printed my ticket, "hold on he said, where is your visa?" I explained that I have an Invitation letter and the visa is waiting for me at the airport, they refused, I made calls to Jordan, Lebanon and Ethiopia to put my manager and our partners in the picture, I gave the phone to the person in charge at the airport to talk to my manager after I woke him up it was a short conversation, but still no is a no.

I asked the airport employee to call Ethiopian airlines and ask them whether or not I had a visa, he agreed but kept me waiting for 3 hours , he came back, made me sign a paper that I am traveling on my own responsibility and gave me the ticket, My flight was delayed from 4:15 to 4:45, thank god this happened because I was at the gate at 4:20.

Got on the plane which was not what I would call "Tidy" I never heard of a "very strict economy" airplane ticket, where it is free seating... have you?

Finally I got some sleep, when all of a sudden a really strong light woke me up, it was so intense and so warm, I opened my eyes to see the most amazing view ever, sunrise over and ocean of clouds, it was like the emergence of the obvious truth.

Once we approached Ethiopian airspace the land was like millions of green carpet pieces of all shades of green, with dark black soil than appeared from above in spite of its small size, small rivers emerged from lakes, going distances to merge with other small that finally feeds almost half of the longest river in the world "The Nile" I was so excited to go there and see in closely.

I got to the airport and Voila ... There was no visa, the customer sent someone to solve the issue but he disappeared, my passport was taken from me and I just waited at the terminal for 15 hours, in the first 3 hours I was contacting the other person who arrived to Ethiopia, the airport staff told me they are sending me to Bahrain the same night, If that happened I would wait at the airport for around 18 hours until I go back to Jordan.

I convinced them that I can go to Lebanon and that I can manage from there to go back to Jordan, they approved, but refused to give me back my passport " got it back later but when I was on board".

I kissed my passport ... there is no place like home, things went really smooth at the Lebanese airport and the flight was good as well, I went back by car to Jordan it took less than 5 hours, it was so good to be home but still because I couldn't achieve the mission I went for, I still wish I can go back and give it a retry.

Lesson learned: Travel can be good for weight loss!.
